Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) Trucks
FCCC - CNG (available early 2011): Powered chassis provide industry-leading reliability and payload capacity. Dual 67” lightweight aluminum fuel cylinders with carbon fiber shells protected by a proprietary crash barrier and road-debris shield, you will see significant reduction in emissions. These chassis are EPA certified in all 50 states.
HYBRID ELECTRIC: Freightliner Custom Chassis offers a seamless combination of conventional diesel and electric propulsion systems that provide the extended range and refueling characteristics of a typical diesel engine plus the fuel efficiency and lower emissions of an electric motor. Lithium-ion batteries constantly recharging through the operation of the diesel engine by regenerative braking, no need to plug into an electrical source at the end of the day. Tested, proven technology, driven by you.
All ELECTRIC VEHICLE: Innovative technology and environmental stewardship
from Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC)
FCCC, in partnership with Enova Systems, has taken the next step in alternative-power technology with the
revolutionary plug-in all-electric walk-in van chassis, giving the commercial vehicle industry its first emissions-free
transportation option.
- Zero fuel usage—The all-electric system on the new chassis model eliminates the need for fuel. That means zero fuel costs, saving
customers up to $15,000 annually per vehicle compared to traditionally powered vehicles and no concerns about miles per
gallon.
- Zero emissions—100-percent electric plug-in technology means absolutely no emissions, significantly reducing the carbon
footprint of fleets and businesses.
- Impressive power and performance—120kW drive motor offers better start-up acceleration than other engines, and features
a top speed of 65 miles per hour.
- Outstanding range—Battery system from Tesla Motors means an up to 100-mile drive range per charge.
- Quick recharge—The battery system needs only 6 to 8 hours to go from fully depleted to fully charged, meaning operators
can plug it in at the end of the day and it’s charged and ready to go the next morning.
- No sacrifice in comfort or quality—The all-electric chassis’ HVAC system is powered through the battery system, offering
all the comforts of a traditionally powered vehicle with zero emissions.
- Significant noise reduction—Lack of internal combustion engine provides an incredibly quiet ride.
- More than a concept—The all-electric chassis is currently being tested in real-world conditions and will be production-ready
in the first quarter of 2011.
